REACH Home Care caregiver assisting an adult client with a disability in his home

Home care is not only for seniors. Adults living with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, a stroke, an intellectual or developmental disability, or a progressive neurological condition need reliable, respectful help with daily living, and they want it on their terms, in their own home. REACH Home Care provides that in the Tri-Cities and Moses Lake.

We are a locally owned, Washington State-licensed in-home services agency (DOH license IHS.FS.61064639) with offices in Kennewick and Moses Lake, and every caregiver we send completes the state’s 75-hour Home Care Aide training at our own REACH Training Center, including training in transfers, positioning, and communication. We take direction from the client first and from family and care teams second.

Support we provide

  • Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, bowel and bladder routines, and skin checks. See Personal Care & ADL Assistance.
  • Transfers and mobility: safe transfers with gait belts, slide boards, and Hoyer or sit-to-stand lifts; wheelchair positioning; range-of-motion exercises as directed by a therapist. See Hoyer Lift & Transfer Assistance.
  • Meals and medication reminders: cooking to dietary needs, feeding assistance, and prompting medications on schedule.
  • Household routines: laundry, light housekeeping, errands, and keeping the home organized so equipment and supplies are where they need to be.
  • Community access: rides and support to work, school, appointments, shopping, and social activities.
  • Respite for family: scheduled breaks for parents and spouses who have been the primary caregiver for years. See Respite Care.
  • Overnight and 24-hour care: for people who need turning, toileting, or supervision through the night.

Care built around the person

Adults with disabilities are often the experts on their own care, and they have usually trained more caregivers than we have. We start by listening: how transfers are done, which routines matter, what has gone wrong with past caregivers. The plan is written with the client, consistency of caregiver is treated as a priority rather than a nicety, and the client decides how much family involvement they want.

How to get started

  1. Call us at (509) 491-1733. Tell us about the person, the equipment in use, and the schedule that would make life work.

  2. Free in-home assessment. A care coordinator visits the home, meets the person receiving care, and writes a plan you approve before anything begins.

  3. Caregiver match. We choose a trained caregiver whose skills, schedule, and personality fit, and introduce them in person.

  4. Ongoing adjustments. Hours and tasks change as needs change. There is no long-term contract.

Care can often begin within a day or two. We accept private pay and long-term care insurance, and we bill many insurers directly. See our long-term care insurance page for details.

Frequently asked questions

Do you serve younger adults, or only seniors?

Both. We serve adults of any age who need help with daily living.

Are your caregivers trained in transfers and lifts?

Yes. Transfers, gait belts, slide boards, and Hoyer lifts are part of the hands-on training at our Kennewick training center, and we match caregivers with lift experience to clients who need it.

Can the client direct their own care?

Yes. The care plan is written with the client, and the client’s preferences on routines, caregivers, and schedule come first.

Can you provide the same caregiver consistently?

We assign one primary caregiver and a trained backup, and we treat consistency as a priority for disability care.

Does long-term care insurance cover this?

Policies vary; many cover home care for any qualifying adult. We help you check the policy and bill many insurers directly.

Do you serve Moses Lake and Grant County?

Yes. Our Moses Lake office at 1010 S Pioneer Way, Suite B serves Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, Othello, and surrounding communities.
