Moving a parent into assisted living or memory care is supposed to end the worry. Then you notice the call light that takes twenty minutes, the meals that go back untouched, the long afternoons alone in a room. REACH Home Care places private, one-on-one caregivers inside facilities across the Tri-Cities and Moses Lake, supplementing the staff so your loved one gets the attention a facility cannot provide to every resident every hour.

We are a locally owned, Washington State-licensed in-home services agency (DOH license IHS.FS.61064639) with offices in Kennewick and Moses Lake, and every caregiver we send completes the state’s 75-hour Home Care Aide training at our own REACH Training Center. Our caregivers work within the facility’s rules and alongside its staff; we are not affiliated with any facility and work for your family.

When families bring in a private caregiver

  • Mealtimes: one-on-one help eating for someone who is losing weight because no one has time to sit with them.
  • Memory care support: a familiar face for someone with dementia who is anxious, wandering, or exit-seeking, especially in the late afternoon and evening.
  • After a hospital stay or during rehab: extra hands and eyes during the first weeks in a skilled nursing or rehab facility, when falls and confusion are most likely. See Hospital-to-Home Care.
  • Overnight sitting: an awake caregiver through the night for someone who is falling, pulling at lines, or frightened.
  • End of life: continuous presence in the final days so no one is alone. See End-of-Life & Hospice Support.
  • Companionship and outings: conversation, activities, walks, and trips out of the building to church, a restaurant, or a family event. See Companionship Care.
  • Eyes and ears for out-of-town family: regular visits with a written update on how your loved one is really doing.

How it works with the facility

Most Tri-Cities facilities welcome private caregivers; many have a simple vendor form for the agency to sign. Our care coordinator handles that, introduces the caregiver to the facility staff, and makes sure everyone knows what the caregiver does and does not do. Our caregiver does not replace facility nursing, administer medications, or override the facility’s care plan; they add hands, attention, and time.

Facility care across the Tri-Cities and Moses Lake

Our Tri-Cities office is at 4304 W 24th Ave, Suite 150 in Kennewick. We provide private caregivers in assisted living, memory care, nursing, and rehabilitation facilities in Kennewick, Richland, Pasco, West Richland, Benton City, Finley, Burbank, and Walla Walla. Families in Grant and Adams County are served from our Moses Lake office at 1010 S Pioneer Way, Suite B, which also covers Ephrata, Quincy, and Othello.

How to get started

  1. Call us at (509) 491-1733. Tell us the facility, what you are seeing, and the hours that worry you most.

  2. Free in-home assessment. A care coordinator visits the home, meets the person receiving care, and writes a plan you approve before anything begins.

  3. Caregiver match. We choose a trained caregiver whose skills, schedule, and personality fit, and introduce them in person.

  4. Ongoing adjustments. Hours and tasks change as needs change. There is no long-term contract.

Care can often begin within a day or two. We accept private pay and long-term care insurance, and we bill many insurers directly. See our long-term care insurance page for details.

Frequently asked questions

Will the facility allow a private caregiver?

Almost always. Residents have the right to additional help in their own apartment or room. We handle any paperwork the facility requires.

Does this replace the facility’s care?

No. The facility remains responsible for the resident’s care plan, nursing, and medications. Our caregiver supplements that with one-on-one time.

What hours are common?

Mealtimes, late afternoons and evenings for people with dementia, overnights, and the first two weeks after a move or a hospital stay.

Can the same caregiver visit every time?

That is our goal, especially in memory care, where a familiar face matters most. We assign one primary caregiver and a trained backup.

Does long-term care insurance pay for a private caregiver in a facility?

Many policies cover home care services regardless of where the person lives; some have separate facility provisions. We help you check the policy and bill many insurers directly.

Do you serve facilities in Moses Lake?

Yes. Our Moses Lake office serves assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities in Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, and Othello.
